IN CONCERT

If you’ve only read the blog posts of the past week, you might conclude that our Granddaughter, Lindsay, is the only child in our life. In fact though, Lindsay is the child of our eldest child who is one of four. Our youngest is a junior in high school. She had a busy day yesterday. She left the house at 6:45 am to drive across town to take her SAT test. She got home after 1 pm. A few hours later we left for her district band competition. It’s always fascinating to listen to a band warm up on its own. It’s a cacophony of chaotic sounds that is rather annoying and grating on the nerves. However, when the band leader brings them to the same sheet of music and begins conducting them, it’s a wonderful sound. It reminds me of families. When the members are all living life their own way it is a chaotic mess. Yet, when parents lead the family in a righteous way, with “concerted” effort, it brings order and harmony into the family. By the way, Lindsay was at the concert too!!
