Every once in a while it’s good to ask ourselves what we stand for or what it is that we represent. Surely it is not our destiny to be blown around by the prevailing winds of life and never really know who we are or what we stand for. I suppose there is great truth in the saying, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” Not only is being tossed around by the prevailing winds of life hard on the psyche of our personal identity, being blown around also identifies that we have few standards which we truly believe in and adhere to.
Whether we work at a job, are married, have kids, or whatever our role is, there is a need for us to stand for the right things of life. Even the most naturally good among us must identify what it is that they represent. Each household and each person in it should stand as a beacon for righteousness and holiness. To do otherwise is to be blown around by the winds of the world.
